Diversity Among Yellow Seeded Common Beans in Tanzania

چکیده
Common bean is globally the most important leguminous crop for direct human consumption. In Tanzania, it inter-cropped especially with maize. Characterization of common beans genetic improvement and ex-situ germplasm conservation since allows identification awareness key features genotypes. The grown in Tanzania are different seed colours such as red, red mottled, grey, white, yellow, brown etc. Yellow one traded types but there limited information on diversity varieties cultivated across country. Therefore, objective this study was to assess yellow seeded found Tanzania. carried out at Sokoine University Agriculture, Morogoro, 2022. Thirty-two genotypes collected from regions were assessed using quantitative qualitative traits. trials screen house open field. data subjected analysis variance, cluster, principal component, correlation analyses. Sixteen characterized determinate plant type while remaining sixteen classified indeterminate. About 75% had cuboid shape 12.5% kidney oval shapes. 78% dominated by green cotyledon colour 90% white hypocotyls colour. cluster grouped into five groups both field house. first four components accounted 51.8% variation observed 61.9% There strong correlations among many traits which will allow indirect selection some complex positive between number locules per pod (r = 0.87) indicates that can be used determine density yield. high level evaluated scientific obtained useful breeding programmes

Determination of Carotene Content in Yellow-seeded Common Bean Varieties
Introduction Yellow-seeded beans are a minor commercial grain type from the Andean gene pool that are eaten in a subset of Latin American bean-producing countries, notably in Peru, Mexico and Brazil. Recently, they have become embroiled in a controversy in the United States where a patent was claimed on the marketing of yellow beans. In the meantime, the scientific basis for the yellow color is...

A core collection of the common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.), representing genetic diversity in the entire Mexican holding, is kept at the INIFAP (Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Forestales, Agricolas y Pecuarias, Mexico) Germplasm Bank. After evaluation, the genetic structure of this collection (200 accessions) was compared with that of landraces from the states of Oaxaca, Chiapas and Ve...

In preparation for vaccine trials, HIV-1 genetic diversity was surveyed between 2002 and 2006 through the Cohort Development study in the form of a retrospective and prospective observational study in and around the town of Mbeya in Tanzania's Southwest Highlands. This study describes the molecular epidemiology of HIV-1 strains obtained from 97 out of 106 incident HIV-1 infections identified in...
متن کاملComparing genetic diversity and population structure of common beans grown in Kyrgyzstan using microsatellites
Common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) is an important export crop in Kyrgyzstan. The aim of this study was to assess the extent of genetic diversity, determine the population structure, and relate to the main gene pools grown in Kyrgyzstan. Twenty-eight common bean accessions (including five Kyrgyz cultivars, and main references from the Mesoamerica and South America) were evaluated with microsat...
